We first heard L'Étranger a couple years back with the release of Touché a French-house track and his subsequent EP 1997, both of which left us longing for the days of Daft Punk's Discovery and Justice's Cross. Since then L'Étranger has been on a hiatus working on new music and has founded his own record label, Thomorrow, which has seen releases from L'Étranger, Jakeyboy, and Stink Floyd. We've recently gotten a lot of questions about who the enigmatic Stink Floyd is. Stink is a breakthrough, up-and-coming producer who draws his influences from the ever popular Jersey club genre adds his own bit of funk to it. Better yet, We'll just let the mix tell you who he is. But first, we've got a few words from L'Étranger:
Whether it was fate or not, Stink Floyd came to me at the perfect time. I’ve been into Jersey club for some time now, but on first listen to a demo of ‘New Odour’ I was hooked. It was an absolute pleasure working on Floyd’s ‘Stank Side’ and to top it all off we got an incredible remix from Jersey’s own, TR!CK$, which was premiered on BBC Radio xtra by R3LL and has gained support from the likes of UNiiQU3 and Hoodboi. I often find myself speaking on behalf of Floyd as he wishes to remain completely anonymous and has no social media accounts. This tape is the longest I’ve done, and by far my favourite. We went b2b playing our favourite Jersey Club & Footwork tracks, its a real journey. Keep an eye out for Floyd’s new material, he’s got some killer tracks in the pipeline. Shout out to LA based All Mine for making this tape possible!
